Did you know that there is an optimal way to position your body during feeding? Keep the head of the patient elevated at least 30 degrees during, and 1 hour after feeding. You or your loved one should remain in this position during the entire feeding and one hour after. Maintaining the correct feeding position is essential to avoid aspiration of stomach contents through the esophagus and potentially the lungs.
