This month, we’re featuring a question about the MIC-KEY* Feeding Tube balloon, asked by Rod D.
Question: Why are the MIC-KEY* Feeding Tube balloons made of silicone?
Answer: Interesting question, Rod. The primary material used in our MIC-KEY* Feeding Tubes is silicone. The balloons need to be made of silicone because the rest of the device is silicone. Silicone is a material that is non-allergenic for the majority consumers, whereas many are allergic to other materials like latex.
