The declogging system is used to clear certain types of blockages, which may occur in enteral feeding tubes. The declogging system ingredients all work together to loosen, break down and dislodge clogs. It is designed to save time: pre-mixed, pre-measured, and pre-loaded system.

The declogging system includes all of the parts that you need to use it:

  • A syringe containing a pre-measured dose of the declogging powder
  • An empty syringe for water
  • An applicator, which is a very thin tube that will fit inside the feeding tube
  • A piece of gauze to collect any drips

How to use the declogging system?

Insert the applicator into the feeding port of the feeding tube. Remove the clear connector from the applicator. NOTE: Ensure the blue connector remains attached to the applicator.

Remove the syringe cap and fill the syringe with the declogging powder to 10 mL mark with water. Replace the syringe cap and shake for 3-5 minutes until ALL powder is dissolved.

Gently fill tube with recommended dosage of 2-5 mL of declogging solution. Remove the applicator from the tube and plug the tube. Keep the applicator and syringe with declogging solution together if procedure must be repeated.

Keep solution in tubing for 60 minutes/ 30 minutes minimum. Fill clean empty syringe with 6 mL of water. Flush the tube with 6 mL of water. After tube clears, resume feeding.

How to store the declogging system?
