Staying Cozy with a Feeding Tube🐾

Hello everyone, Ava here checking in! If you have a feeding tube like me, you know that dressing for winter takes a little extra thought. The good news is that with smart layers and soft fabrics, it is snow problem staying warm, comfortable, and confident all season long.
Layer Up Like a Pro
When the weather gets cold, layering is the best way to stay cozy. Start with something soft and close to your skin, like an undershirt or tank. This helps keep your tube in place and adds a layer of warmth. Then add clothing that zips, snaps, or buttons to the front, such as hoodies, cardigans, or jackets. These layers make it easy to reach your tube without removing everything. No one likes a cold tummy—brr!
Adjustable Clothes Are Awesome
There are many fun and helpful clothing options made for kids with feeding tubes. Some shirts have shoulder snaps, tummy flaps, or side openings that allow easy access to feed. You can even find holiday or dress-up outfits that look great and still protect your tube. Adjustable clothing helps make feeding time easier while letting you show your own cool winter style.
For the Littlest Ones
Babies with feeding tubes can stay warm and snug too. Many baby clothes, such as onesies, sleepers, and shirts, are designed with small openings for tube access. Soft materials like cotton or fleece help prevent irritation and keep babies comfortable during feedings and naps.
Do Not Forget the Fun Stuff
Winter is the perfect time for cozy scarves, hats, and fuzzy socks. Pick bright colors or favorite patterns to make cold days cheerful. Dressing for winter is about staying warm, but it’s also about feeling good and having fun — so go ahead and chill out in style!
Remember, having a feeding tube does not mean you cannot be cozy and trendy. With warm layers, soft fabrics, and a little creativity, you can stay paw-sitively comfortable all winter long.
Stay cozy,
Ava 💛
