Spring Cleaning for the Tubie Home

Hi friends! It’s your pal Ava here, ready to help you “paws” for a moment and get your space fresh and organized for spring. Cleaning might not be your favorite thing, but it can help your home feel calmer and make tubie time easier. Let’s fetch some smart ways to tidy up!
1. Pick the Best Spot
Choose the places in your home where you want to keep your feeding tube and medical supplies. This could be a cabinet, a shelf, a bin under your bed, or a spot in the pantry.
If you have a lot of supplies, you might need more than one space. You can also choose “no-supply zones,” like the living room or playroom, where you don’t want medical items. It helps keep your home looking fur-bulous!
2. Clear Out the Space
After you pick your spots, clean them out. Take everything out and sort it. Make piles for things to keep, things to throw away, and things that belong somewhere else. If you find supplies in that space already, set them aside while you clean, kind of like moving your toys before you dig into a new adventure!
3. See What You Have
Gather all your feeding and medical supplies in one place. Put similar items together. Throw away anything that is expired. Make a list of anything you need to replace or restock. This helps you stay prepared and keeps you from scrambling around like a puppy chasing its tail.
4. Choose Your Storage
Decide how you want to store your supplies. You can use shelves, drawers, bins with lids, or a mix of different things. Pick what works best for your space. The goal is to make it easy to find what you need, no nose-to-the-ground searching like you’re sniffing out a buried bone!
5. Put Things in Their New Homes
Now you can put everything back! Put the items you use most often in easy-to-reach places. Items you don’t need as much can go higher, lower, or farther back. If your bins or drawers aren’t clear, add labels so you can tell what’s inside. It’s a great way to stay well-trained in keeping things tidy!
6. Storing Formula
Keep the formula in a clean, dry spot, like a pantry shelf, cabinet, or a bin. Make sure it stays away from heat, bright sunlight, or anything damp. I can’t read, but humans tell me the dates on the containers matter! Put the ones that expire soonest in the front so they get used first.
When you open a container, close it tight so it stays fresh and safe. But here’s the important part: some kinds of formula need to go in the fridge after they’re opened. Every container has directions on the label (humans are good at reading those!), so make sure to check what the manufacturer says. The label will also tell you how long you can keep the formula after opening and when it needs to be thrown away.
Follow the instructions, and your formula will stay safe, just like I keep you safe with my wagging tail and watchful eyes.
When you’re done, take a moment to enjoy your clean and organized space. A neat area can make each day feel smoother, calmer, and totally bone-afide amazing. Give yourself a little tail wag of pride; you worked hard and did an awesome job getting your tubie supplies ready for spring!
